SnapDance ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.
The selfie you upload contains your face. To create your dance video, your photo (and, for custom dances, your uploaded video) is securely sent to Replicate, Inc. — our third-party AI video-generation provider — which animates it into a short video. We ask for your explicit agreement before your first generation. Your photo and the face data it contains are used ONLY to generate your video for you — they are never used to identify you, never used to train AI models, and are not retained by the AI provider after processing. During generation, images are hosted temporarily via Cloudinary and deleted once the video is produced. We do not create facial-recognition profiles or biometric templates.
We share the minimum data required with the following third-party services, each bound to equivalent data-protection obligations and governed by its own privacy policy:
SnapDance uses YouTube API Services for one purpose only: to upload videos to our own SnapDance YouTube channel. We do not ask you to connect a YouTube account, and we do not request, access, collect or store any YouTube data belonging to you or to any other viewer.
The videos we upload are our own promotional videos, and they may include dance videos that we have published in our public gallery, including compilations that combine several users' published dances of the same dance template. Only gallery entries that a SnapDance administrator has already published are used this way. If you have an active paid subscription, nothing of yours is entered into the gallery or uploaded unless you choose to add it. If you do not have an active paid subscription, your generated videos enter the gallery review queue as described in Section 8, and a published entry may be republished on our YouTube channel. You can have any video withdrawn at any time (see Section 8), after which we stop using it; we cannot remove copies that viewers have already downloaded or re-shared.
Because we use these services, we are required to tell you that by using SnapDance you are also agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and that Google handles data under the Google Privacy Policy.
If you ever have granted a third party access to your own YouTube or Google data, you can review and revoke it at any time through the Google security settings page. Since we hold no YouTube user data, there is nothing of yours for us to delete; if you believe otherwise, write to privacy@snapdance.app and we will investigate and respond.
SnapDance publishes its own articles as Pins to its own SnapDance Pinterest board, using the Pinterest API. This is the only way we use Pinterest.
We do not ask you to connect a Pinterest account, and we do not request, access, collect or store any Pinterest data belonging to you or to anyone else. The only Pinterest account involved is ours. Nothing you upload to SnapDance is published to Pinterest.
Pinterest handles data under the Pinterest Privacy Policy. If you have connected a third party to your own Pinterest account, you can review and remove that access in your Pinterest account settings. Since we hold no Pinterest user data, there is nothing of yours for us to delete; if you believe otherwise, write to privacy@snapdance.app and we will investigate and respond.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Account credentials are encrypted. TikTok OAuth tokens are stored server-side only and never sent to the client app. Generated videos are stored temporarily and can be deleted by the user.
SnapDance runs a public gallery of dance videos made with the App. If you have an active paid subscription, nothing is entered into it unless you choose to add it. If you do not have an active paid subscription — including when you generate using free, promotional, gifted or earned credits — each video you generate is automatically entered into the gallery review queue, and the result screen tells you so at the time.
Entering the queue does not publish anything. A SnapDance administrator reviews every entry and decides whether to publish it; most are never published. If an entry is published, it is visible to anyone on our website and in the App without a login, and may show the generated dance video (which shows your face), the original photo you uploaded, and the name of the dance template used. Your email address, account name and creator profile are not displayed alongside a gallery entry.
A published entry may also be republished by SnapDance on our own social media accounts, including our own YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X and LinkedIn accounts, and may be combined with other users' published dances of the same dance template into a single compilation video. Only entries that an administrator has already published are used this way. Once a video is on a third-party platform it is also governed by that platform's own privacy policy, and it can be seen, downloaded or re-shared by people outside SnapDance. Withdrawal stops our future use of it but cannot recall copies that others have already saved.
You can have a video withdrawn from the gallery at any time, for any reason, by writing to privacy@snapdance.app or using the content removal form. Anyone — including a person who recognises a face in a video and has no SnapDance account — can report a published video using the Report control on it; reports are reviewed by a person. Full terms for gallery use are in Section 14 of our Terms of Service.
SnapDance is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Account data is retained while your account is active. Generated videos are stored for up to 30 days after creation unless saved by the user. A video and its source photo that we publish in the public gallery are retained for as long as the entry stays published, which may be longer than 30 days; they are removed when the entry is unpublished or deleted, or when you ask us to withdraw it. Where a published entry has been republished on one of our own social media accounts (see Section 8), that copy stays on the platform until we remove it there, which we do when the entry is unpublished, deleted or withdrawn. Upon account deletion, all personal data is removed within 30 days, and any gallery entries of yours are unpublished.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification or email.
